...I doubt it will be a "terror" attack--old-hat, and people are suspicious of this gambit. My guess is, some sort of "assault" on the police by "protestors" or maybe "gang members"--use the race card, too. Chicago strikes me as a solid possibility here. One thing I do know--the media, all the Repubs, and virtually every Dem, will fall for it. The actual Reichstag fire was regarded with suspicion by everybody, for good reasons. (The latest book on the subject makes Nazi complicity obvious.) But while the rest of the world will laugh at us, our media can be depended to act like GOP bitches to the end.

They need someone with credibility and gravitas to lend a little gloss to the phony evidence. Powell won't do it, of course, since he took a pretty good hammering for his "we need to invade Iraq" thing a few years back. Who do you think they will recruit?

i still think terrorism. government will get wind of some plot and just let it go on to its conclusion. a few dozen will die, GOP will say "we told you so!" and try to consolidate power and remove rights.
