a lot of those H1B visas they've been granted come from the countries in question.

A lot of STEM companies would feel this directly.

...opposition to immigrant workers taking advantage of those visas isn't restricted to Trump or republicans.

Interestingly enough though, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was the son of Syrian immigrants.
