Would Pence be any less "evil"?

I was just thinking - if Trump gets impeached or resigns, so what? Pence and Bannon are the real brains and power behind all of this. Will it make any difference?

I just think Pence will be craftier, quieter about it - like Cheney.

Thoughts?

I don't care how at this point, but linking him to Dugin and Putin might be enough for some in Congress.

That's why they are letting trump do their dirty work.

MY SIL is from Indiana and half the state think he is crazy. But he is predictably extreme right wing.

Welcome to DU - hope I wasn't too tough on you.

he is crazily anti-LGBT and that scares the hell out of me. It scares me that he will definitely go along to get along with the republicans, unlike Trump, so he will attract far less media attention. I honestly think he would be far more preferable for the republicans to work with but I don't know how they will dump Trump, if their egos can take an impeachment on their side. Of course if he keeps pissing off the CIA they may not have to worry about it.

He is a theocrat. He believes that American law should be based on the Christian Bible, on the way he interprets the Christian Bible.

He would bring his own kind of hurt and chaos.

As soon as they commit some of those high crimes and misdemeanors, I support removing them. There's enough evidence against Trump already for articles of impeachment. If Pence succeeds to the presidency, I'm perfectly willing to remove him when he commits his special crimes.

our long game needs to be splitting off the Tea-Baggers/Alt-Right from the Traditional Republicans.

I don't think the TB/AR will fall in line with Pence the way they did with Trump.

Pence is a Christian true believer. He'd be less crazy, but he'd still try to turn America into a Christian theocracy.

I don't think he's very bright, but he has always focused on social issues - particularly the oppression of gay people and women. He might be slightly less dangerous in international matters.

He's just really, really conservative. There is a big difference. His ideas may be harmful, but unlike guys like Bannon, he doesn't WANT to hurt anyone.
