Note that the people getting detained are not terrorists or refugees...
in fact, it seems that most, if not all, of them are legal travelers of various types, with proper documentation, visas, green cards, passports, etc.
They are being detained for simply stepping off a plane after having boarded in the wrong region. People are right to protest and call bullshit. That's what it is. Perhaps they thought they would get away with it by doing it on Fri night. What they get is a full weekend of protests.
