"New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker said Saturday he is not planning to run for president in 2020, telling CNN's Brooke Baldwin he wants to instead focus on running an effective opposition to the Trump administration."

I would go with O'Malley, Sanders, Warren or some who we probably have yet to hear from.

And NO, I haven't learned my lesson, because I had no lesson to learn. I picked the right guy in the primaries, the "party" seemed to have different ideas and that worked out....

But there's been a plethora of 2020 threads here in the last few weeks. And then replies about how terrible your suggested candidate is and how he or she is a wall Street corporatist oligarch DLC Third water and I get flashbacks to the primaries.

We just need to stop eating our own here. Sorry if I overreacted.

He had serious issues with the bill and voted against it. 12 other Dems did as well. Hell, Dems that also received money from Big pharma employees voted for the bill. This clearly wasn't a "cash in" your chips vote.

Good guy but rumors here in NJ have been dogging him about his sexuality since he intered politics. The democratic Party in NJ tried to get him to run for Governor against Christie but he refused. The rumors persist because Booker as Mayor of Newark was never seen with a girlfriend or any female for that matter. When he was running for the open Senate seat he was asked if he was gay and his.response was what difference does it make(which was the right answer)but he was accused of not forth right.

Something is phony about him. Glib, but not as substantive as I would like. Makes good speeches, but then hedges his bets (like the pharma vote). Don't care about his sexuality, but it could be a negative with general populace, even tho it shouldn't.

I much prefer Franken - in the Wellstone tradition.
