Why should local police ask only about your Federal immigration status?

People break other Federal laws, too

When local police issue a ticket for littering or running a stop sign, why not check whether the offender has filed income taxes in recent years and whether the offender owes money to the IRS? Why not ask the offender to sign, under penalty of perjury, a sworn statement that the offender has never broken any Federal drug law? And also check to see if males are registered for the draft?

There are plenty more options. We're missing an oppotunity here.
