It gives the media a better platform to explore why lifting the Russian sanctions is a terrible idea and why would Trump be considering do such in the first place?

I think Lindsay Graham and a few other republicans will join him. Susan Collins, Rob Portman, and Lisa Murkowski, perhaps. Maybe even Jeff Flake.
