Elijah Cummings says Turtle has vowed no 2nd term for Trump

This on Chris Cuomo/CNN this morning. Cummings said this in relation to working with Trump ---he can work with Trump on things like TPP, which they agreed on, whereas McConnell has vowed to just get rid of him.

Wait til Trumpie hears that the party fathers are out to boot him.

Good news for Dems, IMO.

The damage he has done in one short week could outweigh all the usefulness they get out of him. Do ya think??

I missed Cummings this morning, but have been checking Twitter for anything about what you posted in your OP, because I'd expect Twitter to blow up over this, followed by a quick denial from McConnell. Nothing so far.

It's possible that Cummings made a slip and said Trump when he meant Obama, or just referred to "the president" in a way that was confusing.

I just want to try to nail down the quote, if possible.

Most GOP politicians would feel much more secure with Pence.

OTOH, I'd expect McConnell to be very careful not to say that around anyone who might repeat it.

This was the man that OPENLY BOASTED that as the new leader of the US Senate, his prime directive was making sure The Black Man was a one-term President... NOT helping the Country, NOT benefiting citizens, NOT doing anything positive all all, just trying as hard as possible to obstruct, demean and invalidate our nation's first President of Color.

on running for re-election so lil d can have 3 or more terms. Remember, if a Republican's lips are moving, our first reaction should be extreme skepticism. Especially a snake like McConnell! (He's a reptile, all right.)

McConnell no doubt floated this suggestion to create a false sense of ease among Democrats.

He can't handle the pressure of being POTUS, he'll be fed up with the constant criticism, & he'll say he's so smart he made America great in 4 years, he doesn't need 8 years.

I can just hear him saying, for the rest of his life, "Look, I made America great in 4 years. I didn't need 8 years like other presidents. That's because I was twice as good."

It fits his delusional personality perfectly. (Fail, & then stroke your ego by claiming you succeeded.)
