So what do you suppose will happen at the White House Correspondents' Dinner this year?

This question popped into my head a couple days ago when he was whining about one thing or another.

The dinner is on April 29.

Do you think Trump will last that long? If he does, will his handlers let him go or will send in Pence to pinch hit? Will Trump just refuse to show up? Or if he does show up, will this be what finally throws him over the edge? (I'm hoping his final melt down will be on camera). He did not handle it well when Obama poked fun at him at last year's dinner.

I couldn't find who the speaker is this year. Remembering how Colbert skewered Bush, I certainly wish it were he.

I imagine that it's pretty well set. Though the guest list might change and speakers limited.

it's tradition that the president show up for some joke but he's not the host.

not unless Trump can turn it into "claque of sycophants in a cowed and subservient press fawn on Dear Leader".

usually a comedian chosen by the correspondents - this is their show.

Then the president speaks and gets to be funny (Obama did well at this) but give Trump's performance at the Al Smith Dinner his performance will only be amusing in a very dark way.

Outside of the usual presstitutes, like FoxNoise and Breitbart, I have a feeling nobody will want to attend. Might be tough to get a big name to give the monologue, too.

You're going by long-standing tradition. Donny's in charge now. He can rewrite the rules. If the press doesn't like it they'll have the option of boycotting. Drumpf will be able to do as he pleases, sadly.

the media is to blame for Trump's election. They are in denial and keep telling us we are out protesting Trump's inauguration.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

We are energized and out because we know the media screwed a woman. A woman who was the most qualified candidate to ever run for the office. They did it for shits, grins and viewership.

They think they got away with it.

and given that he and Bannon see the press as the "opposition" it's exactly what they should do.

Of course, he'll claim he turned down the invitation and belabor that point to whoever he's speaking to for weeks.
