So we should pay 20% more for these products so Trump can make a wall?

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Mexico is the biggest exporter of fresh produce to the U.S. by far, responsible for nearly 70 percent of our vegetable imports and almost 40 percent of fruit imports. (USDA data from 2015 places the number at 44 percent of all U.S. fruit and vegetable imports.)

93 percent of Hass avocados sold in the U.S. come from Mexico [Hass Avocado Board, 2017]

• Currently, the U.S. imports 78 percent of Mexico’s avocado production [USAID, 2014]

• 71 percent of tomatoes sold in the U.S. come from Mexico [USDA, 2016]

• The U.S. imported over $1.3 billion worth of beer from Mexico last year [Statista, 2016]

• The U.S. imports about 79 percent of Mexico’s total annual exports of tequila [Tequila Regulatory Council, 2014]

• 15 percent of all sugar consumed in the U.S. comes from Mexico [USDA, 2017]

The USA exploiting cheap Mexican labor is a bad thing.

I think NAFTA was awful and I'll support it's going away.

The man behind it all is nuts, but I'm ok with these things costing more if it means more American manufacturing.

I do not support Trump, but I don't like importing things that we can make here.

What a sec... If your food and other consumer products cost you 20% more, and you don't get a 20% raise in pay to offset the higher prices of products you need, you're taking a 20% cut in the purchasing power of your paycheck. That's YUGE pay cut for you!

20% is a substantial and very generous gift you're handing off to corporate manufacturers, especially since you probably won't be able to afford to buy their goods. Not that they'd care since they would make more profits shipping their stuff to other countries where foreign consumers -- unlike US consumers -- won't have to pay that 20% tax on exported goods.

That is why we get tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers all winter. Mild tropical climate for growing those fruits in the winter.

It is grown. Will you be taking jobs in fields to provide us produce? Many of the workers we "exploit" will be sent home. We will have to pick our own crops. These are not the kinds of jobs Trump promised his base.

Will we stop eating avocados, tomatoes, lettuce? Many Americans already cannot afford food. Trump is about to cause prices to skyrocket.

The Deplorable Wall will be very costly to the poor and middle class.

I am talking about a Deplorable Wall that will impact every American's household budget.

We will pay for Trump's vendettas.

Can't have both.

Anyone who says "nafta needs to be eliminated" has never read it.
