We taxpayers will pay for the wall.

Then, a tax will be placed on imports from Mexico to pay for it.

That extra cost for imports will be passed on to consumers because that's what companies do.

So, We the People, will pay for the wall twice.

2. Three times, minimum. Trade war with Mexico means lots of US jobs lost.

Computer chips made in the US get assembled in Mexico in computers that US buys. Fewer computers means fewer US chip jobs.

Auto parts made in Mexico get assembled in the US in cars. Fewer Mexican parts or more expensive parts means more expensive cars meaning fewer car exports to the world and more expensive cars here and abroad. That means fewer sales and fewer jobs.
