...loved Warren - a real heroine. Still, this is a big disappointment and I would put her on notice. She can be replaced with a more suitable person. That's a job and consideration for the people she represents.

Lower than their Republican governor. I can only guess she is making the mistake as Democrats so often do of running to the center courting moderate republicans. Very disappointing.

This is the behavior that has plagued our party for too long. In not staying true to her beliefs she loses credibility with her base and in the process this courtship of moderate republicans fails to provide the opposition party we especially need. Will be interesting to see if her polling improves.

If Dems fight him on everyone, it looks partisan. If we're very selective, we probably can get more support to exert pressure on more critical nominees.

There is something incredibly hypocritical about complaining that Republicans denigrated Obama and did absolutely nothing for 8 years but obstruct and that was bad, and then turning right around and arguing Democrats should do the same. It's far more intellectually honest to accept that we lost an election, we can act as opposition, but it would be morally wrong to act like Republicans did to Obama. It's the same basic principle behind why we shouldn't torture even if our enemies do.

Winning and losing elections has consequences. Screaming that everything Trump does is the worst thing of all time dilutes being able to have a claim taken seriously when Trump does something that is actually really horrible.

Appointing Carson to a position he is unqualified for is bad. But it's the equivalent of appointing Michael Brown. It's stupid, it's a bad choice. But it's not a Muslim registry. By doing nothing but screaming that Trump is the worst thing of all time, you come across as the boy who cried wolf.

Pelosi called Carson a "disconcerting and disturbingly unqualified choice" in a statement.
"Our country deserves a HUD Secretary with the relevant experience to protect the rights of homeowners and renters, particularly in low income and minority communities, and to ensure that everyone in our country can have access to safe and affordable housing without facing discrimination or homelessness," Pelosi said in the statement.
"There is no evidence that Dr. Carson brings the necessary credentials to hold a position with such immense responsibilities and impact on families and communities across America."

"You don't suppose they didn't want to vote against him because he's black, do you?" That had never occurred to me. Is it possible Democrats didn't want to offend POC and proceeded to vote for a guy whose only qualification is that he has lived in a house?

Every one of Trump's nominees should be opposed. All the Dems have to do is vote No, it takes little time and would encourage the resistance. Warren is wrong on this one.
