What all of this will end up actually looking like who knows. I know I am nauseated right now.

1. According to the CNN article, he will investigate how to do it

and how much it would cost. But Congress still has to appropriate the funds.

Does he think he might be challenged at some point?

That wall has to be paid for, and the House has to allocate the money...we'll see how fast that happens.
Trump has very little, if any, understanding of the political process..there are a thousands ways to derail what he wants.

3. He's moving fast because all he knows is showmanship...

He knows this will impress those who look up to authoritarian power. Those who yearn to be ruled by an iron fist. He's still the same Trump as on The Apprentice and he's running the country in the same way. He know how to wear the faux suit of someone in charge.

" You there go do this, you over there stop doing that. I want you to do this and get it done in 10 seconds. I don't care that it's not possible. You are fired. YOU are fired. Get this done. Get that done." Lots of hand waving. Lots of ego fluffing at the end of the day he feels like a big boy in a big suit.

Meanwhile as you said he has no fucking clue how anything actually gets done in government.

He has no political ideology and has no respect for the Constitution, again its all about him.

5. I think he's doing as much damage as possible, as quickly as possible...
