Wow, how quickly that became a reality.

It must be so scary for these people to feel as though the government isn't going to lift a finger. It's the kind of help that citizens take for granted--as they have every right to do--until it's not there.

Lord knows, Katrina was proof there wasn't anything being done on any competent level. But at least (and I cannot believe I'm saying this) Bush the Younger acknowledged the thing.

and neither do his "advisors". That wasn't part of the money-making deal. Sad, because so many who voted for him are in these southern states. And they keep defending him. Ugh.
