My damn senator...Lamar Alexander

posted on FB today about his reasons for supporting Betsy DeVos. I disagreed with him on many points.

I saw no comments that did agree with him.

I am not surprised that his office number is busy, but I will keep trying.

I live in his county. I have met him. I have contacted him on several issues.

I am pissed and he is going to know it.

Some suggest they are not allowing phone calls through. Emails are low priority. Written letters get held up being examined for anthrax. They say post cards are the biggest bang for your buck.

I talked to a friend from Tennessee yesterday who said she had emailed Alexander urging him not to vote to confirm Jeff Sessions based not just on his racist comments and behaviors, but also upon his historical opposition to the Voting Rights Act, sentencing reform, etc. She received an email back informing her, "That 'racist' is a long time personal friend and close confidant."
