(22,671 posts)It's inspiring to see so many people fired up and taking to the streets. Hope this is a sign of more marches to come.
Republicans must know the majority opposes all the systems they are tearing down.

(743 posts)One thing I really like about all of the pics I have seen of the various marches is the great diversity of people. There are people of all ages and from all walks of life, cultures and ethnic groups. The variety of causes that each of them was marching for is reflected in the signs they carry, with everything from women's right to gay rights to climate change to keeping the ACA and, yes, even pleas to free Melania and so much more. There were no fights or acts of violence (that I have heard of) and everyone seems to be having a blast, celebrating the very diversity that IS America and that Trump and Replublicans hate so much. They use it to try to divide us, attempting to paint one group or another as "inferior" or pit us against each other. As the marches very plainly show, that age-old tactic is no longer working. The marches were a very public demonstration that showed we're all more alike than different and that when we come together to support each others' causes, it makes all of us stronger. And if that doesn't scare this shit out of the PTB, it should. We've only just begun.
