Anyone notice the kind of creepy exchange

Last edited Mon Jan 23, 2017, 05:18 PM - Edit history (1)

Between Spicer and the British reporter. She asked, very cutely, about Trump's relationship with new prime minister. And Spicer was almost flirty and said creepily, "we can always be closer".

3. I disagree. It was odd enough for people to notice, and the press secretary's interaction w/press

6. Important what she as a reporter writes, what Spicer says, if he calls on her too often,

But with all that's going on around the country and the world, who cares if the back and forth was flirty.

What did she ask
What did he answer
How did she report on the answer.

That's reasonably important.

That they flirted? Meh.

7. It was a weird little exchange- a very flirty little softball- looked set up....

Which I think is where the focus should be.
I think many of the questions were arranged in advance.

9. Well there were obvious softballs and friendly media chosen so it's not a stretch...

It was an odd moment, and notable I think.

11. Well, I'll take leave of this conversation here as I did not see it as it happened.

But I do take umbrage with the tmz-ish tone of the OP.

I value the caliber of the conversations that go on here ~ still on a glow from the way the March raised the level of dialogue heck, across the globe...

Peace~

But I found the exchange very odd and actually it made me a bit uncomfortable. Given the tone of the campaign with what we know about Trump, I just found that exchange a very poor display for press conference.

14. I'll just say I did notice the foreign press he chose all seemed to be really honored and excited...

And I'm curious as to where they were from and what their reputations are. Seems like they chose mostly people who were acting dazzled. The only difference I think that with the Brit was is that she was conventionally attractive and downright chummy. But others seemed to have stars in their eyes as well.

2. I did! The exchange was very odd and very creepy -- they were blatantly flirting! Her question

was a silly, lightweight question ("so with our prime minister coming for a visit will relations with the UK perhaps be closer?" Big giggle, huge smile, wink-wink delivery) Spicer then replies "it can always be closer" with a huge creepy smile on his face and winky-wink delivery right back?! How ridiculous -- this on top of Spicer calling on The New York Post for the first question instead of the AP? Seriously?!!

If this were not the presidency of a p**sy grabber.

Seemed inappropriate especially given the whole history with the Trump campaign.
