Star pin at the inauguration?

Does anyone know what this star symbolizes? I saw multiple people with it on at the inauguration and I'd love to know. Thanks in advance for your help!

they are parents and next of kin of service members killed in certain operations defined by the law.

I'm not sure this is what he is wearing, but it's what I could find about it.
