Let's say it is found out that Trump was taking money from the Russian government

and that he colluded with them to influence the election in his favor. He would be impeached but what would happen to Pence? How can it be that Pence could take the office if THEIR election was helped along with a foreign government interference.

1. If Pence wasn't aware of the plan he couldn't be impeached for it.

3. Yeah, I get that. But even if Pence didn't know anything about it,

when we vote, we vote for the Pres and VP as one ticket. If the ticket was compromised, it hardly seem very democratic to promote the VP to Pres since he is only getting to the Pres due to the illegal activities of Trump.

4. I believe the only way Pence

would not take Trump's place as president would be if Pence was found to have known about it or participated in it in some fashion. Granted, the interference likely gave the election to Trump/Pence, but our laws have (afaik) no recourse for it.

They could decide that pence didn't know anything about it. The election may be tainted, but if pence didn't commit a high crime or misdemeanor, they might not impeach him.

Beyond that, if the scandal sticks only to donnie, they won't impeach pence.

Finally, ok, they could impeach and remove both and we end up with ryan as potus. Republicans no matter what.

6. They have to indict a lot of people

Which, ostensibly, is why it is taking so frickin' long to get to the end of this investigation. Basically, the entire RNC must be indicted along with Comey and who knows who else in the FBI.

If this is truly why it is taking so long, then I'm all for it. I would absolutely hate for tRump's connections to be revealed and the others to get away with it.

9. For me, there is no way I'd buy that Pence was unaware and I think many would think the same thing.

Impeach AND convict Trump, Pence moves up and picks his own VP. Say that happens - watch who Pence picks and you'll know his fate. If Pence picks Ryan? Pence will be impeached.

11. Yesterday's marches

may have heartened me too much, but I've been thinking that IF we maintain some of that energy and momentum AND collusion with Russia is revealed, November 2018 is only 22 months away. If the next election occurs during impeachment proceedings, even the DNC would have to work to lose that election, gerrymandering or not.
