Alternative Facts Are Simply Lies with a Different Name

We're beginning to learn the "Newspeak" of the Trump administration. But, we don't have to use it or accept it. When Kellyanne Conway or Sean Spicer lies, they are not presenting "alternative facts." There are no "alternative facts." There are actual facts and there are lies.

Personally, I find both Spicer and Conway to be "doubleplusungood" almost all the time. I'm sure George Orwell would feel the same. I refuse to acknowledge Newspeak from the Trump administration. I will call it out whenever it is used. Our news media should do the same. When Kellyanne says "alternative facts," the news media should translate her words into proper English and explain that those are simply "lies."

I know we've been through 8 years of the right screaming and yelling about President Obama NOT saying certain words but why couldn't Chuck Todd have just called them LIES?

...agree. There have been dozens -- more than dozens -- of provable deceptions and lies over the last year by Trump and his reps. Dozens more by goprs. Every day, really.

Why do we/media always pretend there isn't this history of lies when discussing a current lie? Isn't that the real story? How soon until Todd and mass media see the forest instead of debating who's right about how tall an individual tree is? Is seeing the forest only for fringe investigational journalists and message boards and not the purview of weekly and nightly mainstream news?

Each time Trump lies, why do we 'start over' on the discussion of whether or not Trump is lying? Is there really no continuing problem or pattern that we need be concerned with?

And dem leaders and pundits too....they need to do a much, much better job of pointing out the pattern and helping build the case
