WASHINGTON (AP) Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (puh-LEN'-tee) says he's told Mitt Romney's presidential campaign to look elsewhere for a running mate.
Pawlenty, who competed briefly last year for the GOP nomination before dropping out and endorsing Romney, says he thinks he could serve the Republican ticket better in other ways.
Pawlenty says being asked to run as vice president with Romney would be an honor.
But Pawlenty tells CBS' "Face the Nation" that he's "encouraged people who asked this question in the campaign to look at other prospects."

(39,374 posts)It's the closest he'll ever get to the nomination. I mean, Michelle Bachmann took his ass out this time. And how about the time he stood up to Romney on health care? Oh, right, he never did...Bland as hell, gutless and inept. T-Paw 2016.

if only, eh?

(15,383 posts)After Romney goes down this year, the GOP is going to return to nominating someone based on personality instead of qualifications - Mitt only being nominally qualified for the presidency as he can at least coherently put together a few sentences concerning something (although he'll contradict what they were about a few sentences later).
Pawlenty has no chance. People who pay attention to politics - even republicans - aren't able to come up with anything special about him - good or bad - like other their candidates: Mitt - Mormon, Olympics; Bachmann - Insane, gay husband; Newt - horndog; Perry - Cowboy; Pawlenty - uh...
