Principal is fired for being cited for grabbing his genitals in public.

The Mehlville School Board voted Thursday night in closed session to terminate the contract of Point Elementary Principal Jim Walters.

Walters was on paid leave after he was given a citation for lewd and indecent conduct in Forest Park in March. A police officer said he saw Walters grab his genitals while talking to someone in a vehicle.

Last month, Superintendent Eric Knost said Walters would not return, and that the district was beginning to search for a new principal.

Also on Thursday, the School Board voted to hire Daniel Gieseler for the principal position at Point for 2012-13 at a salary of $95,000.
