Did anyone notice how sparse the National Mall looked?

Last edited Fri Jan 20, 2017, 03:50 PM - Edit history (1)

There was an overview of the National Mall to the Capital and it looked mighty sparse, especially compared to the nearly 2 million that Obama got for his first inaugural.

I wasn't there, but I did hear reports from DC's Metro that ridership was nowhere near what they expected; in fact Metro officials say that it was comparable to normal rushhours in DC. Plenty of train cars had seats, which tells me it was LESS than normal rushhour.

Soooooo much empty white flooring visible!

When they compared it to President Obama's inaugural crowd - shit, you couldn't find an inch of floor - ANYWHERE!

It didn’t take long for there to be a little bit of controversy when Donald Trump’s administration took over the @POTUS Twitter account. As in it was immediate. Initially, the Twitter page (archived here) had a photo of a presidential inauguration as its background image. The problem was that it was from Obama’s first inauguration in 2009.
