Telling someone they are a racist has a 1% chance of changing behavior. Telling them they sound like a racist has a 5% chance of changing behavior. Being cool, silent, and disdainful has a 50% chance of changing behavior over time.

Of course, this doesn't work with a narcissist, because their social shame sensors are defective, but most people aren't disordered.

Further, if someone is being consistently a problem -- and I include being a fascist as being a problem -- that person needs to be pushed out of polite society, excluded, dismissed and ignored. Any direct argument only reinforces their behavior, because of the emotional core process speed vs reason. So the emotional jujitsu is to make them think through their own behavior and come to the realization of their own problem for themselves... or at least isolate them to the point where the only people speaking and interacting with them are in their bubble.

If you haven't read the last few pages of the Simple Sabotage Field Manual -- that remains the gold standard for how to hack an organization. it's a good idea to read it anyway, because seeing those behaviors in our own organizations means there's a problem (intentional or not) that needs to be addressed, but knowing how to deploy them against others is useful. (The first 25 pages are pretty useless at this point, given surveillance and the difference in our manufacturing environment, though they can be useful for period fiction writers.) And those techniques work with just about anyone.
