We had a great laugh over it because well, it can't be true if it ain't true and it isn't.

Today, I established a twitter account and realized in the middle that since I want to be more anonymous there, there are actually a lot of things that have to be established to become a safely anonymous poster on Twitter. I'll be able to do all those things, but it just reminded me of that earlier time.

Sockpuppetry, I will have you know, requires more work than I would ever do for DU. I will only do it for Twitter so I can torment Cheetolinni Pussy Grabber safely.

First, I need to establish another email account and need to make sure I can get it verified without giving any of my true information, in fact, I think I'll use the name my father and stepmother gave me when I was 10. Then, I have to give a phone number that I can receive a confirmation number on so a burner phone. Basically, make sure nothing can trace back to me. Then, I will need to go to the library to torment him so the IP doesn't lead to me. After all, he does have secret service.

Now, if I were smart enough to use Tor, IP wouldn't be a problem. But, I am old, though the fact that I know about the dark net means I'm more aware than most.

As an aside, a friend is going to teach me about PGP and I'm going to start encrypting all of my mail, not because I have nefarious purposes. I don't, but if this country goes quickly down the path it looks to be going. encryption and rotating IPs will be very important.

A MAC address should only be visible on your local network, but it might be possible for someone to exploit your browser to get the information from your computer.

I've been up to my eyeballs trying to understand VPN, Tails, Tor and how it all meshes with Mozilla Firefox. I am neither a sock-puppet nor a programmer. I just want to learn how to be more private!

I need something for a headache.

What I really want to know is if I ever get my feces consolidated and make it up north (I have an honorary grandson 3 mos old, in your neck of the woods), what happens when two sock-puppets meet in real life? Do we, like, just knit together? Sounds weird.
