No one knows what lies in wait over the next 4 years but as we all know here it looks terrifying. I was just thinking about the GOPs moves to repeal the ACA and thinking about how much suffering this is going to cause, and how desperately you guys need some form of universal care like we have, or indeed better than we have hopefully. And I was just thinking about the unjust appointments that Trump has made, one after the other more surreal than the next. I'm thinking as we enter this dark tunnel that the GOP doesn't realize that it's playing with a very dangerous box of matches. They think that they can fuck over joe blow till the cows come home and he can't do anything about it. They have all the power. Well they haven't read their history books. Because there's always only so much weight you can force your populace to shoulder before you reach a breaking point. And the freer and more used to democracy the public in question the sooner that tipping point is reached.

However I'm not as you might think happy at the thought of a public uprising, a revolt, or a coup. Because time and again has shown those to be extremely dangerous powder kegs. We have no idea where that would lead. What the end result would look like. It could indeed bring on a form of totalitarianism simply as a government response to it.

But I do believe they are toying with the idea without realizing it. You can only take away so much from the people before they wake up and say en mass. No, we aren't going to stand for this.

The Dominionists/7 Mountains types want the U.W. to be a "Christian" fundamentalist nation that will give Saudi Arabia a run for its religiosity. They don't care if they're a wealthy minority that has maybe 5% of the rest of the country brainwashed into believing this is the End Times and they're going to go to heaven if they can prevail against the Liberals; these people know that it only takes one person to terrorize and bully 10,000 who would otherwise just want to go about their own lives and be left alone.
Get enough rich M-F'ers who have profited off the "Prosperity Gospel" thievery scam together, and they can buy enough disaffected short thinkers to supplement their brain-dead followers, and cause a lot of grief for people who aren't expecting their neighbors to turn on them and take away rights they didn't know they had for a form of Levitican Law.
They've been planning this since the Nixon era. It took the advent of Social Media to be able to push the Big Lie hard enough that people couldn't just ignore the propaganda by turning off the TV.

Dominionist recognize most of the Alt-Right as fellow travelers. Whether or not they'll still accept the various White supremacists and Libertarians - along with some of the more "fringe" evangelical movements - y'know, the types who are more into the personal freedom to be trolls than to be Godly once the Dominionists get what they want is a question I don't think most of the Alt-Right are thinking through.
The mantra does not end "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" it ends "for as long as s/e is a useful tool". And the Dominionists are counting on using a lot of Tools to claw their way into a country run by Tali-Bornagains.
