I think he has no intention of travelling w the press pool or telling anyone where he is going or what he is doing, who he's meeting with, etc.

3. Not sure why the president doesn't release information like corporations release earnings.

Corporations have an SEC requirement to release information simultaneously to all, so that some corporations and individuals don't benefit from early access to the news.

So a prepared text containing the information is released to the world via PR Newswire. http://www.prweb.com/

Then they usually have an interactive teleconference with a prepared and released presentation, followed by questions from all the analysts and the public that have dialed in.
