Madman. Fascist. Traitor. My God--are we really going to inaugurate this person...

...as President of the United States? He is almost certainly a conscious, knowing agent of a foreign despot. (Whether he's being blackmailed is irrelevant; the fact is what matters.) He is now openly declaring his intention of destroying the European Union. He isn't even pretending *not* to be doing his master's--Putin's--bidding. I now believe that Putin has been plotting for years to use Trump to destroy the EU, break NATO, and weaken--perhaps fatally--the United States. And that anyone who uses the term "conspiracy theory" in a pejorative sense, in response to what's happening, needs to get their heads out of their asses. Of course Trump is an illegitimate President. But more--and worse--is that the Republican party which gives him aid and comfort is now an illegitimate party, with very few exceptions--McCain, Graham. They've all acquiesced in, and are abetting, treason. This shouldn't really be a surprise--remember Nixon in 1968; Reagan and Bush in 1980; the Coup of 2000. But somehow, it is. I believe in democracy, and want to believe there is an honorable conservative party out there. That we can have respected opponents. I have come to regard the Republicans as enemies, not opponents. They care for nothing but power for its own sake. And feeling that may be the worst thing of all to come out of this.

And I sure agree with the rest of your post.

I see them as enemies too.....at least, the ones at the national level. (I refuse to say at the top.)

...or Dewey or Taft...even Goldwater...can you imagine what *he'd* be thinking right now? Not to mention the founders of the party--Lincoln, Douglass, Sumner, Grant...it's sickening.

The majority of them have broken and remade the rules for the sake of power for the past 45 years, and are the most unAmerican collection of selfish, greedy assholes imaginable.
