4. It's a comforting notion, but what would all those people do for jobs?

Most of them are working stiffs, like so many of us, and I'm sure many are sufficiently specialized in what they do that getting another job would be problematic at best. Hardly anyone can afford to quit a job without a firm backup in place.

6. For better or worse

Firing a long time civil servant is extreme difficulty. IMO, Those that hate Trump will stay just to slow track every single thing he tries to do. I worked with the military for over 9 years and never ceased to be amazed by how difficult it was to get anything done. It didn't matter what the rule/law/reg was, actually implimenting it was a completely different matter and that was when people wanted it to be implemented.
