Arraignment in Guam health care fraud case Wednesday

An arraignment and status hearing is scheduled Wednesday, Jan. 18 in the ongoing health care fraud case involving the owners of Guam Medical Transport.

Thelma Joiner, also known as Thelma Cabrera or Thelma French, will appear for her initial appearance via video teleconference on a superseding indictment and arraignment on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court of Guam Magistrate Judge’s Joaquin Manibusan’s courtroom.

Joiner was charged in a superseding indictment along with other defendants in the case in December 2016 with a single felony charge of obstruction of criminal investigations of health care offenses.

The other defendants in the case, Clifford “Cliff” Shoemake, Kimberly “Casey” Conner and Nicholas “Nick” Shoemake, face multiple counts of health care fraud, money laundering and related crimes.
