If the ACA is repealed, we should start and maintain a casualty list thread.

Just the names and the pictures of those who die as a result of the revocation of healthcare coverage. Keep it going as long as the nightmare goes on.

Put it on the DU Facebook page, too.

I made it 26 years with no health insurance but I had a decent job and wasn't too proud to dress out of a thrift shop and eat a lot of rice and beans. I was also a nurse so I knew when to cope with it myself and when to scream for a doctor. Other people aren't so lucky.

Republicans are going to kill a lot of people this time. Without the taxes subsidizing the plans and without the mandate forcing the young, healthy and immortal to join, premiums are going to skyrocket beyond anyone's ability to pay unless they're wealthy.

Keeping track of people who are killed by these spiteful assholes is vital.

I think we should respect the privacy of the deceased and not use their memory or circumstances as part of a political battle. There are too many other people that could be hurt by those actions.

Demographics are already not in their favor and that's not going to improve for them. They simply cannot screw 27% of the population and hope to make it to 51% without them.

Of course you're terrified because uncertainty is terrifying, but I think the metaphor of the dog who chased the car and doesn't know what to do with it now that he's caught it applies here. Not only would it be procedurally hard to take it away without anything to replace it, I really doubt they will remove the popular parts of Obamacare now that it's slowly dawning on their constituents that Obamacare = the Affordable Care Act.

Again, and I hate that the GOP is scaring you, and millions like you, in this cruel and heartless way.

People need to know that there is a real fallout from this. That actual human beings are going to suffer. It is not abstract. This is a tragedy that will not end until these bastards give us single payer health insurance across the board. Healthcare is a right.

would have died anyway.

What I'd rather see is every single person who has a "life saved" or "we didn't go bankrupt and homeless" story goes very public with those stories, especially confronting their Republican Representatives and Senators.

are not always accurate. My cousin died of liver disease and hep C. The certificate asks "Is this smoking related?" The doctor stated - probably.
