John Lewis Being Beaten by Alabama State Troopers Moments Later, March 7 1965
Rep. John Lewis survived being savagely beaten on Bloody Sunday during the Selma March for voting rights in 1965. He was arrested, humiliated, and received death threats numerous times.
He can certainly take a Twitter tirade from you.
The sad thing is that more than 50 years after the Selma March poverty and lack of access to voting still impact many African Americans throughout the Deep South and many millions of others of all races; women, men, and children; trans, gay, or strait.
And you dont seem to understand that. No. You understand it you just dont care.
Well we do. And so does John Lewis.

(2,037 posts)The man couldn't stand the sight of Black employees at his casinos - people who, as anyone who's been in a casino knows, tend to be the most gracious and helpful. So it's safe to say he doesn't think they should be in Congress either.
Then again, few Republicans these days do.

When I saw Congressman John Lewis saying the words I had a strong feeling he was doing it deliberately to get a rise out of Trump. He succeeded. But Trump was probably so apoplectic that someone else, probably Kelly Anne wrote the tweet.
