The Russians could have never pulled this off without the help of the Deplorables.

Wrap your head around that.

The Deplorables helped Russia accomplish what Lenin, Stalin, and Brezhnev could not. They now have a compliant United States government.

What a coup in every sense of the word.

It was actually "fellow travellers."

First attestation for "useful idiot" refers to Russians 80 years before the term was used. So the referent existed before the term was coined.

Same for "fellow travellers." The assumption was that you could be an ally for a while and cooperate when it was advantageous, and then later peel off and do something different. Most of the fellow travellers emigrated or were killed; when you're ally with somebody who thinks that democracy means following him, and if the government is centralized and strong enough, once you've accomplished the leader's aims there's not a whole lot of room left over for your own.

Was she voting for the Supreme Court to lean right? Because they are "her" team? Because she likes the Democrats even less -- and if so why?

Do you think that she might change when Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell dismantle health insurance and replace it with something that helps very few people.Does she care that 20 million of her fellow citizens will be without insurance AND it will cost the country MORE, not less in health costs! If she has employer based insurance - making her think that ACA did nothing for her - has she seen a list of the many things that were required of employer insurance that had not existed before it passed. Here's a link where you could see those changes -- which might evaporate with the destruction of ACA. http://healthaffairs.org/blog/2017/01/11/get-health-insurance-through-your-employer-aca-repeal-will-affect-you-too/

Does she associate the Democratic party with identity politics and she is scared by the acknowledgement by Democrats of the genuine justifiable anger from people who have experienced real social injustice which has impacted them their whole lives giving them less and lesser options than those with privilege? It would be immoral for us to change our values here and I think (like with LGBT rights) this is something where age is a variable that works in our favor. However, until those demographics change how can we change minds? This may be a rare time where we should use words like immoral, undemocratic and unAmerican (though our history belies that one.).

Because she insists that Michelle Obama is a trannie because Joan Rivers said so. I called her stupid among other things and she said never contact her again. That was this past Tuesday. I'm okay with that because I'm very angry so it is best that I don't see any trump voters for a while. We don't talk politics at work.
She doesn't care about politics except to vote republican (trophy wife).

I am so sorry that you have to deal with someone that extreme in your close family. It has to be pretty painful.

perhaps her anger is partially due to the fear that cheato will be "not president" in a hurry too. Sure that's only part of it.
