I have been harping for a long long time that the essential problem is a broken moral compass among so many Americans, who keep re-electing these criminals over and over and over. Too many have chosen the selfish acquisition of money as a higher value than being of benefit to others. We have stopped teaching, preaching, and practicing the Golden rule to treat others as we would want to be treated in similar conditions.

Unfortunately, the repubs replaced it with a new Golden Rule: "He who has the gold makes the rules, and if you don't have enough gold, it's because you are weak." Prosperity gospel and all...
