They've been under pressure to change the system for several years.

I'm unconvinced that their four team playoff will do anything but help the B.M.C. (Big Money Conferences) generate more cash for themselves while continuing to keep the Boise States in their places.

BOISE STATE!!!" Go Vandals!

I still root for Boise State in big games though.

I think LSU-Alabama playing for the title had more to do with it. Strange it took two teams from the same conference playing to get the big time programs & conferences wanting a change.

I'm interested in how they do the rankings and who they invite because I have a feeling this will do more harm then good. If they keep the current BCS rankings and just invited 1-4, TCU would have been invited in 2010 & 2011. 8 teams would be the only way undefeated Boise got in. I'm not a big fan of 8 teams because you'd have possible 9-3 & a bunch of 10-2 teams getting in and I like that regular season is highly important in college football. You'd have 10-2 teams in 4-team playoffs but not nearly as often. But you'd consistently leave off undefeated Boise & a undefeated Utah from a few years ago that defeated Alabama.
