Don't get me wrong, I like Biden, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't be pleasantly surprised if he decided to step aside for a headline grabbing replacement.
I'm thinking Hillary Clinton. I'm not saying that Obama would ask or Hillary would accept, but Hillary's political star has been rising during her tenure as Secretary of State.
It would be a ballsy decision that could lead to yet another historic Presidency.
Just my thoughts. I'm sure that there are other sensational candidates that would provide a few extra percentage points.
So who's your pick?

(36,974 posts)Biden is NOT going anywhere, except on the campaign trail.
And Hillary wants to retire and spend time with her family and to do work regarding Women's Rights internationally.
So, no offense - but come on back to reality

(15,189 posts)But I think she's too tired. A woman would be the best choice IMO. Too bad Elizabeth Warren is busy. They should be somewhat young like Obama so we can get the next election too. EW would just fit in. Michelle Obama would be another choice, but it may cause some heads to explode.

(10,237 posts)...it's Joe Biden.
Any change would be a bonanza of BS propaganda for the rethugs and their puppets in the media.
PEACE!

(135,425 posts)already agreed to a 2nd term--I think they'd switch jobs AFTER the election. Thus, HRC would be the first woman VP, but she'd be unelected, like Gerald Ford.
I'd like to see HRC on the Supreme Court. Shit, she's a lawyer, she knows her way around the stacks--she could kick some ass and get a few people "correct" over that way. It's an easy gig, lots of free time, and she's in good health. She could make the GOP's lives miserable for a good two decades or more.

(37,648 posts)Those are usually highly respected attorneys, most with highly respected prior judgeship experience. HRC didn't practice law that long, and wasn't known for it. She was mainly known as the First Lady, who also had been a partner at a law firm. Then she was known as a Senator. Now she is known as Sec of State. All those things are VERY different from the duties of a Supreme Court Justice....where you sit, alone or with several other people occasionally, and read and write legal opinions.
She has people skills and will stay in that arena. She likes to be front and center.
Plus, she's a moderate. So she wouldn't be a for-sure liberal vote, like Ginsburg.

People don't vote for VP. No candidate would provide extra percentage points. A different VP on the ticket would do nothing but open up a new line of attack.
