Isn't there something forcing assets to stay in place until things are settled? I don't know -- seriously asking.

(21,854 posts)You seem to be confusing audit of tax returns with bankruptcy. If you are in bankruptcy, you can't just transfer property without permission.

(25,567 posts)Business as usual. It was just a bunch of time consuming, red tape for him. (He did his taxes himself and I don't know why he kept getting audited. I know my dad took a bunch of deductions and spent more time than the average person preparing his taxes)
I think being audited is fairly common.
It wouldn't be fair to limit consumers during an audit because most of the time nothing is wrong. Usually if something is wrong, you simply owe more taxes.
