He's done a good job as surrogate, imo; good on his feet, smart, knows the issues and rmoney, not enamoured with himself.

he would very likely have won the nominaton. Dumbest move T-Paw ever made was when he quit the race. "He coulda been a contender..."

He's the most "hooked into" the GOP national machine, his ground game would be a thousand percent better than RMoney's is right now, he knows where the bodies are buried, how local offices run their gigs, and he knows a lot of the regional "behind-the-scenes" movers and shakers. Plus, he might do RMoney some good in Minnesota (or maybe not, but he wouldn't hurt).

Rubio. Rmoney really, really needs the Hispanic vote. It will sway some, but if they steal it, it might be their out. Magoo picked Palin, why not Rubio.

He has not been vetted yet and it's too late to start now.

And you know whoever they pick will be thoroughly vetted. They won't make that mistake again.

Repeats their mistakes. LOL! Rmoney really hasn't been vetted either, but they're running with him. We keep finding out more bad shit about him every week.

currently Intrade is giving him a 23.8% chance

followed by Pawlentry with a 21.9% chance

although Portman might be a little be too far removed from current GOP orthodoxy given his support for the automobile industry bailout. Pawlenty may have a bit more street cred with right-wing Evangelicals - a group that probably needs a bit more placating from Romney.

I thought he'd be useful, but public hasn't seen him. Pawlenty's been an effective surrogate, and may have established relationship w rmoney.

Why not?

They voted for RayGun on name recognition more than anything else.
It sure as hell wasn't because he was capable.

McDumb got a big rush in the polls when he surprised everyone on his VP pick. Rmoney will try the same thing. Some sort of gimmick. Maybe it will be a business person who has never held office before.
