"I believe in the death penalty, not for the guy -- for the neighbors -- the ones who always say, 'he was such a quiet man'. The incinerator was going 24 hours a day, all neighborhood pets were disappearing but you couldn't put the pieces together, could you, Matlock?"

completely enabled by Penn State and their greed. Unless the enabling system is also punished, it'll happen again and again.

The systemic, constant, all encompassing need to win a game or two at the expense of defenseless little boys is more than I can take. IF anyone who ever went there to school, regardless of whether or not they played any sport whatsoever, isn't deeply ashamed right now, then you've nothing to add to the discourse of this civilization. Period

People like that are as different from normal humans as the one who munched the face off a homeless man on an overpass.

Was concerned that Penn State fans on the jury would look for a reason to let him go. Very glad to see that they did the right thing, restores my faith a bit.

it is Penn State fans who want this guy to burn most of all. Besides tarnishing the reputation of the school, in the minds of many PSU fans, Sandusky put Joe Paterno in his grave.

The rumor mill had to have been hot and heavy about Sandusky, people will talk even if just in whispers.

Paterno could have made Sandusky yet another reason for people to look up to him but he chose another path.

Paterno carried a great deal of social gravitas in Happy Valley, probably more than any other single person there.
