Dylan Rooof is a racist, fascist scumbag...and killing him gives him what he wants.

It turns him into a martyr for his "cause".

The alt-right will use his execution to rally the "troops".

Far better just to leave him rotting in a cell, all alone, with no visitors and no communication with the outside world, 'til he finally dies.

Sixty years of obscurity in a prison would be the best punishment for such a specimen.

He wants his execution to incite a white supremacist uprising.

We're better off having the give die in obscurity in a cell 60 years from now.

All I'm saying is don't give him the reward of being a martyr.

You will probably get your way on this, but I'm not as confident as you that executing him won't make things massively worse. For everyone's sake I hope you're right if it actually happens.

Not repentant, believed what he did was right, even on his death bed he quoted a poem extolling his actions (ruined a great poem in many ways).

He has zero concern for any human life, including his own. Spending the next several decades of his life in order to evaluate that lack of concern would be just. Granted, his life will be in danger in prison if he comes anywhere close to a general prison population, ala Jeffrey Dahmer. Still, life imprisonment is the only punishment I could recommend.

I think you are spot-on with your assessment of his execution being a galvanizing event for white nationalists and other racists. We don't need to energize them further.

There really are some things worse than death. He's a young man and sitting in a cell for the next 40-50 years seems fitting.

Despite my recent stay at a Holiday Inn Express, I am no Psychologist. However, nothing I saw struck me as low-IQ or space-cadet type logic.

It's worse. He understands how he is perceived. He has introspect and reflection on his actions that require some sort of mid-level functioning. Yet no remorse or acknowledgement of the devastation he caused.

Id rather it be a obvious and detectable mental defect rather than a "rational", determined, and ingrained racist hate. I want these f*ckbags showing DVSM signs 10 years before they are capable of ruining lives so we can address it somehow.

He is 100% eligible for the DP, as it stands. Either that, or abolish it completely. He is why it exists in purple states.

for reason it is not reversable in cases of false convictions. There is no doubt about this guy's guilt and in a big time DP state like SC, not giving it out would be a pretty big 'fuck you' to the AA community in this case.

But this one leaves no room for doubt, and he accepts what he did and believes it was virtuous. May it be swift.

because we all know he'd find a ready audience for his vicious bigotry there.

And at some point over the next 8-10 years, he's got to realize there is no glorious martyrdom in being strapped to a table and put down like a rabid dog. Perhaps at that point he will realize he's a fucking dimwitted tool and rat out the really bad guys.

I'm against the DP, even for this little turd. However, the last place he needs to be is mixing with skinheads and neo Nazis in prison.
