My notes from tonight's live conf call w/ Warren, Schumer, MoveOn and PCCC re: ACA Repeal

1. Repubs will "Gish Gallop" propaganda and legislation at Americans and at Dems, tossing a lot of new legislation and propaganda to support it at once so that Dems cannot defend each item - Dems have to come up with opposition that covers ALL of an issue at once - CONSOLIDATE defenses for each issue in response to GOP tossing truckloads of crap out at people and Dems.
2. Dems must stop playing DEFENSE and start playing OFFENSE.
3. Share info with whoever you can and especially Trump voters (friends, neighbors, family). And get involved LOCALLY with fighting these issues.
4. TAG YOUR REPS on Facebook and Twitter when discussing issues or telling stories of people who will be hurt if ACA, PP, Medicare or Social Security are cut or repealed.
5. FACTs don't beat idiot ideology. STORIES do. Esp about PP and ACA, Medicare and Social Security. TAG reps on social media with these stories.
6. WEDGE Trump AGAINST the Republicans - more on that later. Turn him AGAINST his own party.
7. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF PHONE CALLS! Call your reps in DC and locally! Tell them your story or others stories and ask them how they intend to vote on an issue.
If you schedule it ahead of time, you may be able to gather a group to go visit your rep's office. Have everyone get their stories together and go talk to your rep. Sometimes you may meet w/ a staffer and sometimes you may be able to see the rep him/herself. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IF YOUR REP IS REPUBLICAN. They need to SEE people and HEAR real life stories about how legislation they're supporting and voting on affects people.
8. TELL OTHERS TO CALL as well. GET YOUR NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO CALL their reps and state their views and tell their stories on issues such as ACA repeal or defunding PP or losing Medicare or getting Soc Security cut. TELL them how these changes affect people in the REAL world.
Elevate compelling stories at every chance - share them with others and with your reps when you call or write. Also send them to keith@boldprogressives.org to be used in their efforts.
