Parallel between trump supporters and addicts.

A fraction of trump voters can be reached and we should encourage that.

However, we must accept that the vast majority WILL NOT CHANGE THEIR MINDS.

I work with addicts; psychologically, emotionally and spiritually sick individuals. I lay the tools of recovery at their feet and the vast majority of the time they throw the tools back in my face.

It is not until the consequences of their actions become so bad (rock bottom, some call it), that they HAVE to change their mindset/behavior in order to survive.

Same with the majority of trump supporters... Psychologically, emotionally and spiritually sick individuals. And they will not change until they are personally and tragically affected by their vote.

Problem is, their rock bottom will be ours, too.

my brother is a recovering alcoholic too.

You are right. They have to come to a realization. Unfortunately their high is misinformation and it is more prevalent than cigarettes (the heroin - smokes comparison) and Coke.

What do you think? It gets them all pumped up... I would think that would be a kind of high as well. Especially now that they feel powerful.
