Is there any precident for Twitter to shut down Trump's account?...

It's highly unusual for the president of any country to personally interact with the public in such a medium. There are almost always several layers of filters in between the president and the public. They make press conferences, speak through their media advisora, give interviews etc. Now if the circumstances were different I could almost see using such a medium as refreshing. Sometimes those layers insulate politicians from consequences and critique. However they also act to insulate the public from the power of the presidency in that messages are usually edited, crafted, prewritten to present a face. The danger of the enedded stream of consciousness shit coming from Trump is that it's a form of bullying the public and indeed individuals. And by allowing Trump to continue, Twitter is tacitly giving approval for this kind of bullying. They are allowing him to use their public network for political purposes. Shouldn't there be an argument that they should shut down his account because of conflicts of interest?

Millions and millions of people go to Twitter to see what that jackass is up to.

Why on earth would Twitter want to stop that?

Very interesting! Now that you think about it. Trump is very dependent on the free app of which he has no control. Could be sometime maybe Twitter management decides for the good of the country they would shut his account down.

Russian mobsters or Paul Ryan with pruning shears is probably what he deserves.

More likely they'll give him the big boy's super secret Presidential phone and it won't do tweets.

A staff member, one who's not insane, will take over the twitter duty.

The mainstream media will note how Presidential Trump's tweets are.

because it posed a security risk. Wise man that he is, Obama cooperated with this.

Trump will not take anyone else's recommendations. So, he risks being hacked, and will definitely look like the complete fool that he is.

At some point, Presidents started making radio addresses. Radio infrastructure, are of course owned by private corporations.

Prior to radio, literally everything the President said, was filtered, and perhaps edited by newspapers, once again owned by private corporations.

I don't know the answers to your questions, but the questions made me realize that corporations have been the medium of hearing Presidential words for a very long long time.

Why would Twitter even consider blocking a President from using the venue? Now, I don't use Twitter, because I find it to be a waste of time. However, if I did, I'd be upset if they blocked me for expressing my political views on their system.

Why shouldn't Trump tweet? His tweets give us an insight into his warped and disturbed thinking. It also give everyone a chance to comment on what he says.

For Twitter, it's a source of revenue, I assume, since it depends on people joining and using the system. There's no reason for Twitter to block a President from tweeting. I've seen several people suggest this, and simply don't understand their thinking. If Twitter starts blocking people from posting about politics, then the system becomes completely useless as a venue for voicing opinions.

Think about it: If they can block Trump, they can block you just as easily.

I don't think Trump meets the standards on their own as he is too scatter brained to himself repeatedly harass people.

But a case could be made that he inspires those who do then send rape and death threats. I think it's a case stretch though and would suspect it would be those making the threats would be the ones banned.

some like the pepe hate frog crew are bashing on Germany today, trying to destabilize their democracy and bring back, ramp-up nazi-like hate on immigrants & 'others'.

Authorities in Germany should ban and charge owners of those (American?)twitter accounts with crimes before the hate gets out of hand into more extreme violence.
