I posted something over in another thread that would suffice as a reply here. So I won't hash it again, but humanity as a collective seems to default to ugliness. Even if it's not grand overt gestures like killing somebody, most people engage in bits of micro evil all the time. Should I let this person merge into my lane? NO, they should've signaled sooner. It's the homeless guy that's here everyday *look the other way*. Did you hear about so and so and so and so???

Despite the fact I said you shouldn't be optimistic go ahead and do so anyway. Somebody's got to keep manning the light house for the rest of us.
