If only he had been coming from Canada. NOPE!! He came from gun loving Alaska. He is a gun loving patriot that may have been in the National Guard.
He's an American, through and through. Just exercising his rights to carry a gun in his bag, and use when necessary.
Let this be a warning to those who are unfortunate enough to get into an argument with someone. Whether in a car, or on a plane. It may be your last argument.
Guns can solve any dispute. ANY Dispute.

Canada - Handguns cannot be transported to or through Canada. Non-restricted hunting rifles or competition firearms do not require specialized documentation. Please call the Canadian Firearms Program at 1-800-731-4000 for additional information on firearms to or from Canada. A U.S. Customs declaration issued before departing the U.S. is required before bringing your firearms back to the United States. We cannot accept rifles, shotguns and other firearms between the United States and Canada without the required documentation.

(3,194 posts)If his flight merely connected in Canada, would that rule apply? He may not have even stopped there, but if he did, obviously it did not stop him from checking the gun through to FL.

(61,899 posts)A Broward County commisioner passed on this story to the press.
Air Canada has no record of flying this person from Canada
or allowing a gun in checked luggage.
EDIT: Additional reporting (CBS) is that he flew in from Alaska
with a stop in Minnesota. He arrived at FLL via Delta Airlines.

(269,032 posts)very recently honorably discharged - had a pending minor charge in court. The timeing between the discharge and the fact that the case comes up in March is interesting. Still I love how some are pushing the line that he's a home grown terrorist.
