America Has Always Enjoyed Shooting & Killing

We have a long history of it. Going back to the Indians, then the long history of slavery, countless slaves shot and killed.

The old west was fascinated with guns. Jesse James, among many others, used guns to commit regular violence.

It even goes so far as our history of hunting, which continues to this day. Even people on DU will espouse the right to have many guns, so they can go to the mountains, get drunk, and shoot a few innocent deer. Makes me remember the scene in Deer Hunter, where DeNiro fired a warning shot rather than kill a deer, after being traumatized by killing while in Vietnam.

That culture of constant war, constant violence, is what laid the foundation for a country with more guns than people.

And many of the people with the guns are constantly taking about their fear of losing their guns to the government.

Which causes many of those same people to go out and buy more guns.

People who are afraid of their fellow citizens and equally afraid and mistrustful of their own government.

drink while handling guns, and some quiet heavily. Plus a bunch of gunners are on meds that alter judgement.

Generally, I'm fine with hunting, but most gun fanciers aren't hunters, of animals anyway.

talk of how responsible gunners are. Heck, if I remember, the NRA used to sell some really nice Scotch/bourbon glasses with a bird dog etched in the side.

And whats the problem with hunting a deer. Its a lot more humane than eating a cow who lived its entire life in a cell too small to move in.

Where I live we had a deer overpopulation problem. Out state issues more hunting permits to keep the deer in check since when it gets out of control a lot end up dying from malnutrition. Not sure if that is a better alternative.

I grew up in a family of hunters. There was no drinking while hunting. None. That's true in most cases. We ate the meat. Personally, I'm not a hunter. I also eat meat. In every case someone killed the animal that meat came from. Humans have hunted since we stood up on two legs.

Your argument is misplaced, I'm afraid. Now if you use no products that come from dead animals, I can understand you position, but I know few people who do not, have not, and will never use things that come from dead animals.

Attacking hunters isn't the way to go.

You really think it was all shoot outs all the time? Ha! It was a lot of walking, a lot of hard work, a lot of trying to scratch out a living in a hostile landscape (the land itself, that is). Very little shooting, except for hunting.

Killer Is Proud American Gun Owner

Just look at the picture with his finger sticking out to resemble a gun. How American of him.

take that up with Islam. It is to symbolize the single one true God.

A shorthand for the Shahada, and specificly the first line, the Tahlil.
"There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."
