Woolsey bailed, will Mattis be next?

Trouble in River City. Mattis is UNHAPPY with Team Dump's picks for his second at Defense. He doesn't like who has been suggested. Says the candidates should include more people being considered, including even NeverTrumps.
Battle brewing.
Everything about this Idiot is one giant clusterf--k and getting worse.

1. I disagree with Mattis a lot but I fundamentally respect the guy... I really really hope he bails

And it says a lot that the hoped-for voice of sanity in the administration earned the nickname "Mad Dog"

2. Nervous Rethugs, alarmed at Idiot's cabinet picks at least could point to Mattis as a sane figure.

Even suggesting Nut-job Flynn would defer to Mattis since he (Mattis) outranks him with a STAR.
If Mattis bails, HOLY SHIT, batten down the hatches.

6. Weird because the military rank is irrelevant

and the NSA does not give orders anyway. Actually the President is the only one who can give orders to the Cabinet and so long as they are in keeping with the Constitution and relevant laws.

I got to wonder about anyone who was counting on a long term future in government being associated with this administration. Telling the Ambassadors to immediately resign might be good for their long term careers.

5. He would have been a good NSA

Too bad we got Flynn. I object on principle to a recent military career man serving as SecDef (the cooling off period is a very good idea).

7. I definitely agree about that last part

Even if there's no actual conflict there the optics of a recent general taking SecDef are just awful. But year, I think he would have been a decent NSA, and certainly better than the psychopath we're getting.

Mattis seems to be the only pick who both parties approved of so it would make sense if he bailed...he's probably sane and now realizes he's surrounded by morons...
