While as a clueless hateful a-hole can do great damage to the US, a precision strike can do far more.

Even the Russians know the possible blowback from interfering in an election of a more powerful nation is a pretty high risk for an adversary to undertake.

Putin rose from the ashes of the USSR. Only the most ruthless, and calculating of SOB's could accomplish something on that scale. I believe that someone like that would risk the possible repercussions if the rewards outweighed the risks.

Trump would be of little use if he was not controllable, and the only way to control a bully is through that bully's greatest fears. I'm very sure the Russians have something on him, and my guess is that it's monetary. It is also my belief that he would rather die, and take the rest of us with him, to avoid being just another average joe.
