Donald J. Trump ?@realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours agolike the 116% hike in Arizona. Also, deductibles are so high that it is practically useless. Don't let the Schumer clowns out of this web.

Being called a clown by a guy who bathes in orange paint and has an eight dimensional comb over is like being called large by an elephant.

I agree that high deductibles suck.
However, it is really outrageous that a Republican would make this statement, since they constantly berated Obamacare for taking away catastrophic insurance plans, which have high deductibles by definition. Republicans used to love to reminisce about how young people used to be able to purchase cheap "catastrophic" health plans because they rarely got sick.
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)It was a pretty easy retort, but for some reason every Democrat got lockjaw when it came to defending the Affordable Care Act: "By repealing the Act, Republicans want to return to the days of denials of coverage for pre-existing conditions" Easy to say, easy to remember. "Republicans want to kick young people off their parents' insurance." Too esoteric? "Republicans want to bring back useless insurance policies that provide no real coverage." Let Republicans try to explain why catastrophic insurance policies were more desirable for people, because they aren't.
Instead, Democrats let Republicans set the terms of the discussion, hemming themselves in to the worst aspects of the ACA, and failing to tie Republicans to the Act's shortcomings and refusal to do anything to make the Act work better for more people.
