Andy Grammer to headline Georgia inaugural ball

Last edited Mon Jan 2, 2017, 06:33 PM - Edit history (1)

ICYMI: Not all musicians are boycotting the inaugurals. #boycott

Pop star Andy Grammer will headline the Georgia State Society’s black-tie gala on the eve of the presidential inaugural.

The bipartisan Jan. 19 gathering ahead of Donald Trump’s inaugural will include a host of Georgia luminaries – and Georgia-themed food and beverages.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the inauguration of our 45th president than to be alongside fellow Georgians at an event featuring great entertainment and Georgia fare and refreshments,” said U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, honorary chairman of the Georgia State Society.

"Honey, I'm Good.", is his most successful song to date, peaking at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. This single has been certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and was ranked one of the ten best-selling songs of 2015 by Nielsen SoundScan.
On October 27, 2015, he performed the National Anthem prior to the start of the opening game of the World Series between the Kansas City Royals and the New York Mets at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. In January 2016, he performed an a cappella version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Denver Broncos–New England Patriots AFC Championship Game in Denver.

I thought it was strange that an inaugural ball was listed as "bipartisan" DesertRat Jan 2017 #7

The repeating theme of who is Andy Grammer is oddly apropos, his music is highly repetitive. Thor_MN Jan 2017 #11

I've never heard of Andy Grammer. And I live in Georgia. I'm not too upset about this.

Why would any Dems pay to be at a black tie event celebrating the Trump inauguration?

One of the distinct benefits of age is that one doesn't recognize many of the names of A-list pop starts and any of the B-list and lower.

I'm not surprised that they found someone to take the stage. The only thing more pathetic than having one performer would be having a roomful of Republicans all trying to hum and dance at the same time.

He's definitely not one of my favorites, but he does have catchy songs. It's a shame that he's supporting the orange twit.

IMO, of course. Music that has but one or two phrases repeated multiple, multiple times is not appealing to me. Write some fricking lyrics, not a catch phrase. Must be why I think Trumlethinskin is an idiot too.

His career will benefit from any exposure at the Inauguration, even negative exposure!
